How to practice D-ribose
Typical dose: 3–5 g 1–2× daily with meals. Useful short-term for fatigue or post-illness recovery, but routine use lacks data. Monitor for low blood sugar symptoms if taken on an empty stomach. Combine with balanced nutrition and rest for best results.
The evidence behind D-ribose
D-ribose supplementation can speed ATP recovery in heart and muscle cells after exertion, but evidence for brain or general fatigue is limited. A few small trials suggest benefit in chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia. Mechanistically sound but under-researched. Excess intake can cause mild hypoglycemia or GI distress.
