How to practice Local Vaginal Estrogen
Apply 2–3 times per week after an initial daily loading phase per product instructions. Safe for long-term use and compatible with most systemic therapies. Generally does not require added progesterone. Appropriate even for women who cannot take systemic estrogen unless contraindicated by active estrogen-dependent cancer.
The evidence behind Local Vaginal Estrogen
Evidence shows local estrogen improves vaginal and urinary tissue health without increasing systemic estrogen levels or major risks. Mechanism: local estrogen restores epithelial integrity and microbiome balance, indirectly improving comfort, sleep, and sexual well-being, factors linked to mood and cognitive quality of life. Strong safety profile and widespread consensus.
