The evidence behind Nicotinamide Riboside / NMN
NAD⁺ declines with age, impairing DNA repair and mitochondrial function. Supplementation with NR or NMN raises NAD⁺ levels in humans, improving markers of metabolic and vascular health. Animal models show neuroprotective effects in Alzheimer’s and ischemia, but large human RCTs have yet to demonstrate cognitive or lifespan benefit.
