How to practice Theracurmin (enhanced curcumin)
If used, choose a clinically studied enhanced formula (e.g., Theracurmin) at 90-180 mg/day. Take with food. Benefits may take months and are likely modest. Avoid concurrent use with blood thinners or high-dose turmeric extracts. Suitable as an adjunct for those with inflammatory conditions or strong family history of neurodegeneration. Standard curcumin may be reasonable when the goal is gut-localized effects, minimizing drug interactions, or prioritizing cost and long-term adherence over potency.
The evidence behind Theracurmin (enhanced curcumin)
Curcumin is poorly absorbed; Theracurmin and other enhanced forms improve plasma levels. A few small RCTs (notably in older adults) show improved working memory and mood after 12–18 months. Mechanistic evidence supports anti-inflammatory and anti-amyloid effects, but large trials are lacking. Bioavailability and dosage variability complicate comparisons. Safety is excellent at moderate doses.
