APOE Genotype

Available as add-on
Why we test it
The APOE gene codes for a protein involved in cholesterol transport and fat metabolism. It has three major variants: E2, E3, and E4. The E4 variant is strongly correlated with a higher risk of developing Alzheimer's, while E2 appears protective. E3 is considered neutral. While APOE status is a potent risk factor, it is not deterministic. Environmental and lifestyle factors play a vital role in the onset and progression of Alzheimer's.
BetterBrain target
e3/e3 (lowest risk genotype)
The strongest known genetic risk factor for late-onset Alzheimer's. One-time test that enables personalized prevention.
What you Can do
  1. APOE-tailored diet (lower saturated fat for e4)
  2. Aerobic cardio training
  3. Quality sleep
  4. Omega-3 (DHA)
  5. Early and aggressive risk factor management
