How to practice Use THC / cannabis cautiously
If using cannabis, prefer occasional, low-THC, or balanced THC:CBD products. Avoid daily or high-potency use, especially for teens and young adults. For sleep or pain, start with minimal effective doses and reassess frequently. Chronic use to self-medicate stress or insomnia tends to worsen both over time.
The evidence behind Use THC / cannabis cautiously
Low or occasional doses can reduce anxiety and help some adults unwind or fall asleep. However, heavy or daily use, especially starting in adolescence, impairs attention, memory, and motivation. Brain scans show smaller hippocampal volume in chronic users. THC interferes with normal REM sleep architecture, and long-term dependence can cause rebound insomnia or anxiety. Animal research suggests cannabinoids might reduce inflammation at very low doses, but human evidence for neuroprotection is inconsistent. CBD-dominant formulations may offer similar calming effects with less cognitive risk.
