Biomarker
pTau-217
Available as add-on
Why we test it
pTau-217 (phosphorylated Tau-217) is a form of tau protein that becomes abnormally phosphorylated in Alzheimer's disease. It is the most studied blood-based biomarker for detecting Alzheimer's-related brain changes, with accuracy approaching that of PET scans. Blood tests for pTau-217 can identify amyloid and tau pathology up to 20 years before symptoms appear, offering either early intervention or peace of mind.
